Manuals work alright, when your milk lets down it flows out fairly easily.. That being said they are not as nice or as easy as an electric pump.. With my daughter I used both. Electric one at home and the manual one at work, thought it was better for work being that it didn't make noise like the electric ones do. Oh and I would worry about getting a hand cramp, once breastfeeding is established pumping isn't difficult.. Hope this helped answer your question.
I was never able to pump well with the manual and a lot of my friends moved on to electric! My daughter wouldn't take the bottle, so didn't bother getting one myself. If you think about feeding it can start the 'let down' quicker, but if your boobs don't play ball your hand can get tired. I used to swap hands part way through.
I might suggest waiting until you have the baby and seeing if you have supply issues. If not, a manual pump usually works okay for occasional pumping.
Manual didnt work for me. My breast never llet milk go with a pump. I sometimes used my hands directly. But when baby fed iit was like milk waterfall. I always thought that was weird. Electric pump worked good just i found it a lil uncomfterble
Ok thanks for your comments :) im not planning on having supply issues the women in my family turn into milk cows when they have babies lol plus im going to be drinking milk tea and whatnot but i could be the one odd ball in the bunch :/ maybe not
