medicaid

Silly question. So I just received a letter from.medicaid stating that I qualified. Does that mean I can show the letter to a doctor or am I going to receive a card in the mail? Im kinda confused its my.first time getting medicaid.

You can call Medicaid and get your Medicaid number.. Usually when you are approved they send u temp paper cards. That's what Iv used with all my pregnancies. But if not just call and grab your number =)

If your approved they can actually look you up in the system but definitely take your letter it definitely helps because your information should be on it, but even if you don't once your approved your in the medicaid system. Hope this helps!

Ur doctors will just bill u as self pay... Im 14 weeks and 3 day and I got approved for Medicaid at 2weeks.. I still haven't received my insurance cards... luckily I had a old one to reference.. no no big deal.. they can look u up...

If your account/policy number is on the letter they can use that until your card comes in. All they need is the number and your name to bill them, the card is just for convenience.

Just ask your dr office. I just brought my eligibility letter for medicaid for the month of November and they accepted that until I got my card but they were able to look me up in their system and saw I was being covered by medicaid.

My card was there in 3days but take the letter just in case

I was 16 weeks when I FINALLY got a letter so I just took it and it was fine.

You can go and take letter they will back date a few weeks or so when you get your card

I waited to get my card and then brought it in. Took awhile to get but they back dated to the official start date and ran every thing through medicaid.

My doc office made me wait to make a apt when i got the card in the mail took about 2 weeks

I was told to take the letter because it takes longer to get the card.
