Oh and u do become immune to it but like u said it will definitely help for now. I can't believe woman are suggesting u take Unisom or PM meds over melatonin OMG good thing they r not ur Dr
Melatonin is perfectly safe to take during pregnancy... #1 reason why it's safe is because melatonin is a natural chemical that our bodies release anyway. I'M sure once u hear back from ur Dr they will tell u the same. I took it during my last pregnancy because I had insomnia and my baby is perfectly healthy. I wouldn't recommend u taking any PM meds until u talk with ur Dr. Good luck
I don't see how Tylenol or unisom is any more safe than melatonin. We produce it anyway. It's natural. I've heard other people say they have taken it and you get immune to it. But if it will help right now I'm willing to try it. I guess I need to talk to my doctor. I just don't understand how one doctor can OK something but others are against it. It baffles me. Thanks for all your input ladies!!!!
Mine told me not to use melatonin because there wasn't enough research either way. (Safe or not safe) I have been taking unisom or tylenol pm because heaven knows I need the pain relief right now.
You get immune to it fast but I think in going to try it.
Unisom is ok to take during pregnancy. Its a sleep aid.
Thank you! Would really appreciate more responses. I didn't hear back from doctor today.
I'm 20 weeks and I'm currently taking it the Dr. gave me the okay at my first Dr. Visit becuz I have insomnia and was actually taking amitriptlyne for it but that's not safe while pregnant so he told me to take 1 or 2 5mg tabs a night it seemed to help in the beginning but not so much now
