miscalculation? but how? why?

Is it possible to get pregnant without a period? I had my last period March 20th, which would make me 8 weeks pregnant. However, I got my first ultrasound yesterday and it shows a yolk sac and fetal pole no heartbeat detected yet, doctor says I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. My beta count is rising like normal, started at 111 last Wednesday. It's at 7030 at the moment. I didn't get my period in April but the OB was asking if I'm sure I didn't get my period in April. I'm certain I didn't. Why do you think the calculation is so off by 2 weeks? Anyone had this issue??? I'm concerned.

Are your menstrual cycles irregular? Mine are and in my first pregnancy and in this one I wasn't as far along as I should have been. My first child came out premature but was very healthy. This pregnancy is going well so I don't know if it is a cause for concern.

I didn't have a period for 3 months before I got pregnant. When I told the doctors they thought I was already 20 weeks pregnant. Come to find out I was only 12 (or so) I was shocked but once my DR explained why and how this possibly happened. It all made since.

Based on my last period I was due August 15th but after first scan revealed I was only 10 weeks not 12 it was moved to August 30th. I think it all just depends on your cycle and stuff. Good luck!

I went into my ultrasound thinking I was 12 weeks and was only 8 weeks 6 days. I didn't have a period since early November and it says I conceived early December lol so I'm thinking I just ovulated late and my doctor didn't even say anything or answer my question when I asked why

You probably just ovulated "late" like someone else said. Not every woman ovulates on the 14th day of their cycle every month, some months it might not be until day 20 because of stress of other reasons. I wouldn't stress out about it too much unless your doctor is overly concerned.

You can still ovulate if you don't have a period. I didn't have a period for almost a year when I got pregnant with my first . It was a big shocker to myself and my doctor. Its possible you ovulated late. But the ultrasound is pretty accurate. I wouldn't stress too much about it to be honest.

My last period was March 2 which gave me a due date of December 7.  After an ultrasound, the baby only measured at 6 weeks 6 days instead of 10 weeks like I thought I was.  There was a strong heart beat so they are not concerned about the difference.  My new due date is January 1 almost a months difference.

I was 2 weeks off in my 2nd pregnancy and I still can't figure out how! Baby was all good... So may be ok...

But your situation is also slightly similar to my 3rd pregnancy but mine was a miscarriage. I was bleeding at 9 wks but ultrasound was showing up as 5 or 6. I had already had a positive test at exactly 3 weeks (negative the day before) so knew 100% the dates couldn't be off. So I knew it was a miscarriage.

Yours is more hopeful - you could have had a longer cycle or it's also possible to ovulate again right at the end of a cycle. If that was the case, you could have missed the next period coz you were pregnant, but been 2 weeks later than you expected. So there is cause for concern, but also just as equal hope for a normal pregnancy... You can only be certain after you wait another couple of weeks for another scan... Good luck!

I ovulated 3 weeks late apparently.  My last period was the end of November but my "conception date" was almost the end of December.  I thought I was due almost a whole month earlier.
