U will be surprised how high ur pain tolerance is when u actually begin to feel active labor contractions.  And the nurses at the hospital will help u to relax.  If I were u I would wait as long as I could to get an epidural I'd u plan on getting one.  Also what ^^ is very helpful as well.  goodluck!!

I found some personal Saying  that worked for me the one was; The pain intensity of my contractions cannot be stronger than me because it is me.
that one was very powerful for me because it made me realize that this is Me and my body doing this this is and not somebody pulling my arm off or cutting me open this is my body working in the way that it was supposed to work. With each of the contractions  bringing me closer to the final result which was meeting my beautiful son so t to know that I could do this because it was me who was doing it helped a lot.
I also noticed that very low tones with my mouth wide open in my head up helped as well and I didn't lay down for most of my labor I stood up I did not have an epidural I was able to stand up and it made it so much more bearable I don't know what it's like to have an epidural I've never had one my first delivery was without pain medication I did it just me and my husband and my midwife. I was told to lay down in bed I was told that I needed to wear monitors I told them that they could monitor me once in a while but I wanted to stand up and this was my labor and this is what I was doing there was no reason for me to stay in bed I was more than capable of standing up things and I had my has been with me and there was never a time I felt dizzy or faint and when I did or if I did it towards the end during transition when I didn't feel so good I want to puke I sat down don't let anyone tell you how you're going to labor this is your labor this is your time this is your baby
