mommas with other children

My son will be 2 in may and baby is due in sept. My son still sleeps in the crib because he has never tried to climb out and he prefers it over his car bed.. he has taken a few naps in it but never slept all night long in his big bed. How do I get him to transition? I don't want to buy another crib since he has another bed to sleep in.. how did you get your children to sleep in a bed?

Maybe have a little party where you celebrate what he big boy he has become and celebrate his big boy bed, maybe give him a graduation certificate for being big enough to grow from the crib to his bed, balloons, a gift, and lots of praise! Then take down the crib. I know that's annoying since you'll need it so soon, but it needs to go. If there's anything in the crib that he loves, put it in the bed (even if it doesn't match lol).  Have a second gift ready for after his first nap in it, and a third for the morning after he first tries sleeping it, whether it goes perfectly or not. Good luck :)

I would set goals and reward him when he reaches them. Maybe start with if he sleeps all night once in the week he gets a treat. Than gradually increase.

He has car sheets and blankies and lots of stuffed animals and his favorite pillow.. the little stinker just doesn't like change:) I'll just have to be more persistent I guess. I don't like to stress him out and force him to much, I feel like he will hate it then.. ugh I have time to make it happen

You introduce it to him. You make sure he sees the bed as a good thing & not the opposite. In your situation you say he has a "car" bed, well start putting car sheets on the bed or maybe a pillow shaped into a car (can get that at ANY near by walmart) make the bed look as though its a friend instead of an "enemy" lol two is a perfect age to start training him. Good Luck to you
