mother's who formula feed?

So I was thinking about formula feeding my baby boy. My baby girl just turned one and I'm 26 weeks pregnant. She is just now weaning but still will nurse before she falls asleep. But now mainly gets fluids from water and milk. Breastfeeding has been great but its also been very Time consuming. I kind of just want to be able to gov him a bottle. My daughter would never take a bottle nor do I like pumping. So its been kind of hard on me. So my questions are:

Did your baby suffer from stomach issues and/or digestive issues while on formula?

Did he/she get sick often?

Was it a good experience for you?

I just feel guilty I know the health benefits of breast feeding I just never expected to have my children so close in age. ):

I tried breastfeeding and hated it so after like a week started formula with my son- he did great grew a ton and is very healthy and smart! I havent decided whatv I'm doing with this one but ill prob formula because I dont think ill like it again- we used enfamil gentlease and dr.browns bottles helped with any gas issues he had!

I've formula feed all three of my babies they all were insanely healthy. And still are, they never get anything worse than the sniffles that last for a couple days. They all gained the correct amount of weight. I hear so many say formula makes babies fat but mine were all right on track. They never suffered any ill effects from formula and are honor roll students (the two that are in school)

I was the same way. My first took forever to nurse. but with my second my milk production was better somehow and she nursed in a quarter of the time. I remember it taking 30 minutes for my oldest to eat and with my second she would be done in 5 to 10.

I'm in your boat. Never expected to have myb kids so close.  I breastfed my first a yr. Right after she weaned, I got pregnant.  I breastfed ny second for 7mo. When I found out I was preggers, my milk changed taste & she was getting fussy so I recently weaned her off ny boobies to formula.  She's doing great,  no problems.  I'm 18wks with baby #3 & I don't think I'll be breastfeeding.  If I do,  it'll maybe be in ny first 6wks pp & then supplementing with both from thereon out. I need a physical & mental break lol

I formula fed from the beginning, my daughter is three now and has never had a serious illness. She didn't get her first cold until she was over 1, and she is smart and healthy. If you don't feel committed to breastfeeding, just know that not all formula fed babies are bad off, just depends on the child.

I formula feed my first and bf my second.  My first was much chubbier and had constipation issues.  However I believe it is just the milk protien in it not formula feeding itself.  Turns out she is allergic to milk.  She also has a quick reflux so she throws up really easily.  Also dont know if it was cuz of the formula or just coincidence.   My second was very gassy in the beginning and ended up having blood in his stool.  Learned it was milk so I took that out of my diet.  He has never had bathroom or weight issues.  I did switch him to formula at 10 months that was milk free.  I do plan on bf my third as it is very hard finding formulas that r milk protien free.  And I know it is best.  But I understand y you dont want to.  My second always nurse every 1-2 hours which is y I switch him to formula eventually, I was just living in my family room nursing constantly.  I also did pump tho.  I didnt like to pump but I needed that freedom at least once a day/night.

Well breast milk is better for them. But doesn't mean formula is bad for them! Thanks for the answers!

My first was on formula and never had an issue. Switched her to milk at 9 months. Dr gave me hell but its was my choice. I don't believe that breast milk is better for the baby or makes them smarter. People judge you when they see that you don't bf. Its what works best for you. Your child will be smart not BC of the milk but how their parent raises them and teaches them!

The babies respond differently to different types of formula my daughter was on soy formula when she was a baby because the 1st one she had she keep spitting up .they also have milk for gassy babies and spit up & so on. so you have to try one and watch the babies reaction and based on that you and your pediatric doc can settle on a good milk for your little one .not every baby is good with the first milk  given to them.jus as not every baby likes the boob lol but its true! Good luck choosing milk for the baby:)

Some babies get constipated on formula. My daughter did but I just gave her a bit of apple juice watered down to keep her reg. She never got sick. Not til she was 2.it is expensive and I think the spit up from it reeks but they have all kinds to accomidate baby
