mucous plug

Does the mucous plug necessarily have to be bloody or tinged with blood?

They can be a variety of colours (yellow, brown, pink, clear, green, etc.) but they usually look like a big sticky gooey glob of snot.

Sounds like a normal discharge. As long as it wasn't cottage cheese type. Google some pictures and see if that helps.

Mucous plugs can look different in every pregnancy. But if your having something that's clear and watery, it could be amniotic fluid. I would call your doc and ask.

It can be brown looking mucous... not necessary blood.... good luck
