I would talk to your doctor and let them know you are pregnant they will decide the best course of treatment. Also talk to your ob. Im a nurse and work in a suboxone clinic so you should certainly not take advice from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Yes its bad for the baby to be on it but its worse to go off it.

First of all DO NOT get of methadone or take advice from those that know nothing of the drug as there is a terrible stigma associated with it. If your doctor through the clinic us ok with you safely detoxing while pregnant but most do not advise it as it can cause fetal stress and withdrawal. Your baby can be healthy if you continue methadone maintenance while you progress through your pregnancy. The only complication that has been found in medical studies is low birth weight and that only being a difference of a few ounces not pounds.
Speaking from experience I know your baby can be healthy and after you give birth your baby will be taken care of by a team of doctors and nurses by given something to calm the withdrawal symptoms. My son is now 5 years old and fine , I was on methadone throughout my pregnancy safely monitored by doctors. They may need to increase your dosage based on your blood volume increasing.

So in closing, call your clinic doctor , if you need the treatment continue it, it is better then taking the risk of using again.

I agree, method one is very dangerous for your baby. But it is also dangerous if you just stop it. Talk to your doctor about being weaned to a safer option.

Methadone is not something I would want my baby addicted to outside of the womb. That will be weeks a weaning that little tiny body off of that stuff.  My sister was on methadone and she would sweat and begin to feel ill every day at the same time it was time for her to dose. She said the withdrawals from that stuff was so bad she will never go back. She thought she was going to die. No way can I imagine putting a new born through that. I don't think it would go well.

I would do your best to get off asap. It is a narcotic and has some serious side effects It is also addictive. Maybe through a Dr help and suboxine or something you can end the cycle. I wouldn't exactly take the clinics advice about it. Talk to a pcp or obgyn and be honest. You can do it!

I would get off asap. You need to talk to the clinic and your ob about steps to take to get off the drug. Methadone causes serious dependency and side effects. Good luck! I was 19 when I kicked heroin and oxys (2001) and have never looked back. A good detox might help too.
