Hope all is well! You will be fine, just stay strong!!
Did thwy start during your pregnancy
The neurologist said I have been having them for awhile they pregnancy is just making them worse I have the bad ones in my sleep and silent seizures when I am awake @Stina_rina
Im so sorry youre going through this. My brother is epileptic and takes meds everyday for it, his seizures are pretty scary. Cant imagine what its like while pregnant. I hope you have a family member or close friend that can stay with you while you have episodes. Stay strong and keep an eye on it
Thanks Farah_remo its really scary waking up and losing up to eight hours at a time my biggest seizure was about 15 minutes I am on a new medicine and I have been having small ones since starting it but its scary because they affect my unborn son as well I am lucky to have my husband an in laws they have been super supportive
A quick question in regards: were you diagnosed pre-pregnancy? My neurologist warned me when we found out that it may change my seizures. Been being monitored by a maternal-fetal-medicine specialist every 2 weeks for progress and growth because of being on keppra.
I wish you and your little one the best of luck!
I didn't know before this pregnancy he said that I could of been having them my whole life or just a couple of years but the ba ones have been in my sleep and silent ones during the day I have a spot on my brain he said it is possible mirol temprol schroisis I was on keppra and found out I was allergic to it I am on vimpat now 100 mg twice a day and still havinv them he said that the pregnancy could be wat is making them so bad did not have a clue till the fifteen minute one in Jan
My brother takes depakote and does well on it. I dont know how safe it is to take it during pregnancy but ask your doc about it. Just make sure youre never alone for long periods of time since sometimes seizures can leave you unconscious which can lead to oxygen deprivation to baby. I hope something works out for you and that your baby is healthy to the very end. Sending prayers your way
Thanks so much its scares me but every time they check on gavin he is doing great and heart is strong just ready for him to be here and know that all is ok and he is healthy thanks for the advice and prayers they r very appreciated
Sorry to hear. Can you feel it coming on so you can make sure you and your child are safe? My mother used to suffer from epilepsy since a baby and could tell when one was about to happen. Meds helped control it and brain surgery to remove scar tissue is a longer fix (for her anyway).
I have been asleep when I have the bad ones I can tell I have had one as soon as I open my eyes the silent ones I just blank out and loss time and it freaks me out when I realize I just lost 5 10 15 minutes my neurologist specializes in seizures said he can't do anything else till Gavin gets here meds. R helping control the big seizures the last two have only been about five mins
Since starting the new meds last week
Ask your ob if it's worth you seeing a maternal fetal med specialist... I know it's kept my mind at ease... I found out I bbc.co had epilepsy during my first pregnancy, my son is now 11 and thriving... you will be alright just make sure you follow your dr's orders and if you don't know or if you're not sure then ask ask ask!
I know it doesn't work for everyone, but do you live in a medical marijuana state? Is medical marijuana something you could ask your Dr about? It seems the benefits might outweigh the risks, and you don't have to smoke it. There's also cbd oil that is legal in all 50 states, you can buy it on etsy and Amazon. Cbd oil is given to some children with seizures and helps a lot. Plus, cbd oil doesn't get you high. I hope you find something that works, I will pray for you and your baby!
