I had the same thing happen to me at 5 weeks 5 days. Went back 8 days later and there was the yolk sac! I am 9 weeks now, don't worry yourself too much it may just be too early. I had a transvaginal one then too but it still wasn't seen until the next week
This also happened to me. I was about 5 weeks when I went to the dr and we saw nothing. Was very disappointed but I have another appointment on the 24th hopefully we see our little one. This is my second pregnancy after almost 10 years of trying so I am very nervous.
I had that experience although there was a gestational sac, there was nothing seem inside it. We went back 3 weeks later and saw the heartbeat and everything. So it may have just been too early? Have you heard back from the doc yet?
This is the order in which things are seen.....empty sac, then gestational sac with yolk sac, then gestational sac with yolk sac and fetal pole. All occurring within about 1 week. An abnormally shaped or abnormally large yolk sac are not positive prognostic signs. If your hCG is positive and you are asymptomatic, you really shouldn't get a scan until suspected age of 8-10 weeks. Scanning at this time provides the most useful 1st trimester diagnostic info. Good luck.
5wks+3 days according to what.....LMP? May be to early. Did you get a blood test for serum beta hCG? The blood test SHOULD HAVE been done first. Negative hCG, not pregnant and no need for an ultrasound. Wait about 1-2 weeks then tell your doc you might be pregnant. He or she should then order serum hCG test. If the level is about 2000, you should be able to detect an IUP with transvaginal scan. Anything less would be too early for a scan.
They did the transvaginal one
When I thought I was pregnant I was about 5 weeks also. They did an ultra sound & couldn't see nothing. They then did an internal ultrasound. The one inside the vagina & the yolk sak was seen. So which ultrasound did they perform on you? Internal or external ultrasound?
I went bc I had some spotting over the weekend
There wasn't even a gestational sac
Online it says that it may not be seen till 5.5 weeks or 6 weeks but still could be too soon to see.. Have them do another ultrasou d at 7 weeks
That early it is hard to see anything. A lot of docs won't have the first appointment until about 9 weeks.
