non stress test?

I keep reading this term, I feel a lil silly asking because I'm on my 5th baby but I have no idea what that is. Never even heard of it till a few weeks ago. My friend has to take it. What the heck is it for?

They moniter the baby's movement and they give you a button to press everytime the baby moves you press . if the baby moves 6 times or more then your good if not theyll do an ultrasound and see whats going on,i had it done last week cuz i didnt feel my baby moving then on the moniter she started moving none stop so i kept pressing the button.

I went to the hospital 4 times bc I thought I was in labor and it is the worst you just sit there for hours while they monitor the heart beat and contraction times

I had it done with my first son, they monitor how many times he was moving in an hr...because my fluid was getting low and he wasnt moving as much as normal
