Sorry, I keep hitting post on accident! The test usually takes 1 hour each time, but of your baby is sleepy and not moving much, it can take as long as 2 hours. They put this little buzzer thing to your belly to try and wake baby up, and have you drink apple juice and even eat graham crackers if baby is not giving them the responses they need. I hope that's helpful!
They basically put a heart and movement monitor on your belly and count for a specific amount of movement and appropriate acceleration of baby's heart rate. Then they do appropriate ultrasound to measure fluid around baby and to make appropriate baby is doing breathing exercises.
