placenta previa!

So I am 22weeks and 2 days.  My doctor stated that she wants my husband and I to abstain from having sex since I have placenta previa. I also previously had a leep so my cervix is really short. Has anyone continued to have sex and been ok for the rest of there pregnancy? I just for my sex drive back!

I had a low laying placenta. I had 2 normal bleeds after sex. But I was never told not to have sex think the dr must of forgot to say about that bit.
Well at 30 weeks I had sex within about 5 mins after I felt like a pop and thought my water had broken looked down I had black jeans on and they had turn red with blood.I rang my mum and asked if her bf could take me hospital. I walked in asked them for help before I know it I was in a room with about 6 different dr midwifes. They was putting drips in and weighing my clothes for blood loss.this was 7pm. I was given sedroids for my baby lungs.then at 3am I was take down for an emergency c section. I was put a sleep for it. I woke up in intensive care as they had put me in a comma to help me heal from the pain. I lost 6 pints of blood on the table.

When I woke up my bf gave me a picture of my daughter who was in a different hospital I didn't get to see her for two day. But thank god she was alive. She was born at 32 weeks 2days she was 3pound 13oz. She was able to breathe on her own after a few hours. She's now 6 years old

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences! We tried and there was no bleeding. Just alot of cramping and praying that I did the right thing. I guess I will go back to the "fooling" around stage. Lol. I have a ultrasound next week. Hope that it has moved!

I had it but it was a low lying placenta I got an ultrasound at 24 weeks and was told It was still lowbut they cleared me and gave me the OK for sex. It was extremely hard for me. My boyfriend lives 3hrs away and I only see him every other weekend. So 3 days before my next appointment we couldn't help ourselves we totally humped, he was very careful and didn't insert himself all the way in but it got the job done. Felt amazing! I will say I felt slightly guilty and every little movement afterwards or cramp/feeling was making me really nervous and paranoid. At my apt. Everything was OK. I had no bleeding after sex or spotting. Everyone's different though. I was only kept from sex for 4 weeks. Good luck and hopefully your placenta moves!

I was told that at my 12 week u/s that mines was low as well but I wasn't told not to have sex. I was asked if I've had any bleeding and that at my 20 week u/s they would check to see if it moves and keep an eye on it. I haven't had any bleeding but I've been worried every since I was told that it was low. My doc didn't seem like she was too worried though.. so i pray that hopefully it has moved..

I was told I had it at 12 weeks, I'm now 17. My next ultrasound is at 20 weeks. They will be checking to see if it moved. I also was told no sex. I was informed I could still fool around, nothing in, but outside touching is fine. It's kinda like being teenagers again.

Unfortunately with placenta perva you really shouldn't have sex  I had it till finally 26 weeks it moved and they did the same thing with me the reason being is you can bleed more and start contractions way to early is what I was told. I know it is very hard to abstain from having sex.. but try to it is for the best. If you can't then I would try talking to your doc
