And that's kinda weird they did it so early. Because the bacteria comes and goes so at 12 weeks you can test negative for it but by the time you deliver you could be positive. That's why the usual check is at 35-37 weeks. I'm really curious why they did yours so early 1978mama Cuz it can change by the time you have the baby

Some doctors (like mine) do it via urine sample and they did it at my 12w appt so I don't have to have the swab done.
strep B is a mild form of the bacteria which cause strep infections - like step throat. it will not hurt you, but the baby can get it during delivery. so if you test positive, they give you an anti-biotic in your IV during labor
I had it done today but its wen they swab ur vagina nd rectum to see if u have some type of bacteria

they test a couple weeks before you are due
