pain

So yesterday while at work I got a pain, Sharp kinda stabbing like pain on my right side. After work I noticed it more often. It feels like it is right above my right hip/pelvic bones. It feels like a pulled muscle or something similar. Any ideas on what else it could be?  I did use an ice pack in the area last night and it felt better.

How far are you? Have you had an ultrasound? I had an ectopic pregnancy which also causes pain on one side. I'm not trying to scare you but if you're newly pregnant & haven't had an ultrasound I'd call the doctor. They'll give you one to be sure

Thanks all. I have felt a twinge of pain today, this morning when I twisted my body weird. So I am pretty sure its round ligament pain. I know there are other symptoms to apendicitis that I also am not experiencing.

I had an apendicitis a few years ago, it felt mite like a throbbing stabbing pain deeper inside, not like a pulled muscle at all.  What your describing definitly sounds more like round ligament pain to me.

Thanks. I looked it up on webmd and it said apenditicis or that. If it continues I will call otherwise I will tell my doctor on Monday when I see her.

Fyi: Round ligaments support the uterus. Some pain is normal as the strain increases with the size of the uterus. Mention it to your doctor. Mine said he wanted to know if it was too severe this time.

Round ligament pain possibly. I had the same thing with my first. Thought it might be appendicitis since it's in the same area (lower right abdomen). My doctor did an ultrasound and everything looked normal so they just chalked it up to round ligament pain.
