pcos First trimester being afraid of miscarriage

Hi I have been diagnosed with pcos and have been on metformin for just over 2 mouths and have been on clomid.  Now 4 weeks pregnant I am not sure I should proceed with metformin.  I have an appointment with my doctor in another week so I just want some advise. I read on Internet it could help lowering the risk of miscarriage. Any thoughts

I am 22 weeks, have PCOS, and taking 2000mg metformin per day.  The doctor recommended that I continue taking it throughout pregnancy.

I'm on a small dosage. Only 750ER once a day. I'm glad I decided to stay on it through my pregnancy because I ended up with gestational diabetes and I'm able to control my blood sugar through my diet with the help of the Metformin. My baby is a normal healthy size as well. I honestly don't believe the Met will do any damage to the development of a fetus. The pro's have outweighed the cons in my case.

Yes they usually keep you on met through first trimester and have them check your progesterone levels. I've had pcos for over 20 years and on my fourth pregnancy no miscarriages.

Many thanks. What dosage are you on. I am on 3 * 500mg a day. Can it be too much
