My husband wants to take me to get my toes and nails done. I just want to make sure it is safe for me and the baby. I'm exactly 6 weeks today. I'm just worried about the fumes. It would be nice to feel pampered though. This is my first pregnancy, so I am learning a lot of things I can/can't do ♥ thank you.

I went at 6 weeks and 8 weeks and have just made sure it's a well ventilated salon and I like to go in the morning too so there isn't a lot going on. My first pregnancy as well and it's going great, we need the pampering :)

Nothing wrong, except those nasty foot tubs with jets. Fungus paradise. I'm a nail technician here in Atlanta. There has been no proven facts that acrylic fumes harms fetuses, however I wouldn't do it daily. Once a week is just fine. Enjoy :)

I stayed out of the salon for the beginning months. The first trimester of pregnancy is like walking on egg shells. I just went to get a pedi at 32 weeks & wore a mask. I also went very early while the salon was empty & no one was getting those stinky acrylic nails done. I would say wait until after the first trimester & consultant with your OB.
