I hate it that people ask what are we naming our son and when we share they make fun of it like idiots. I picked a name and my husband picked the middle name , he picked Maximus which he loves and thinks its it's a strong name. I didn't warm up to  the name at first but I had to respect his choice . well today my brother asked what we were naming our baby and when I said Maximus he laughed and said "oh like gluteus maximus lol" and we both just said "yeah sure like that" smh. Does anyone else get this also? Is there something wrong with that name for reals?

Same here. We're naming our daughter Rebecca after his deceased mother. But she'll be called Rebecca!  No Becky or Becca! And if someone tries to butcher her name I'm definitely gonna correct them. Lol

People are so stupid!!! I love the name Maximus! So it's a strong name! I met this guy that worked at Wells Fargo and his name was Sir. He was tall and had such confidence that i thought his name was a great fit!
My husband and I are naming our baby Dante. Still unsure on the middle name. But I'm so sick and tired of people cheering for Dante's Inferno and whatnot. I hate that they relate him to hell. Also, my friends dog's name is Dante...ugh. good thing I don't see him anymore lol. But my husband loves that name and we are going with that.  I just told him, tell people we don't know the name because I'm so annoyed with everyone!!!

Yes! I'm due in 8 weeks. And my sons name is Gabreil Eugene. The thing is, its the opposite. The father picked the first name Gabreil. and I picked Eugene because its a family name. Any time people ask and I give them the name they say they love it. But the father says *oh you don't have to say that* and he makes fun of Eugene because its an older name.

My own MOTHER asked what i was nameing my daughter n i said Olivia LaShea bc i want to be able to cal her Olive bc she is going to be a beautiful mixed baby!! (: im white n my bd is black. It sounds fine. When people talk about my baby names I tell them it's my baby and I will name it what I want. Then I make a snide comment on how they should have choose a different name for their kid....or I say when they have kids they can name them what they want.

I stopped telling people my babies name not because they made fun necessarily but they had an opinion and I was getting to the point of wanting to punch ppl in the face! Lol People really need to respect the fact that u chose a name for whatever reason u did so they need to shut the heck up if they have nothin good to say. Ugh! We're having a boy & had already decided to name him after my husband & his father-he'll be David John III. Its not my favorite, but it was important to him & its at least a straight forward name. I just hope people don't call him DJ-I hate that! But if we were having a girl, we were planning to keep her name a secret until after she was born because its unusual, but we love it & I didn't want anyone else's opinions or snide comments. We're holding on to it though-in case David get's a sister in a couple years.

People are dumb! I had a name picked out for a girl I love Adalyn and every one is like that name sound mumbled and dumb. But we are having a boy and I'm going crazy becauset husband and I can't decide on a name and everyone and their brother keeps throwing ideas out there and it's driving me nuts! You are the parent and will be the one caring for that child; therefore the decision of the name is between you and your husband. A few people have talked about my daughter's middle names "Marie-Ruth". They say they are old names but they were her Great Great Grandmothers names (Marie is my side and Ruth is my fiancée's side). Both woman were strong and paved the way for our families. I am proud to give my daughter those names. So, you hold your head up and tell the world of Mr. Maximus!

She has a human name but people think its stupid I wanna name my kids after my dog. I dont care what people say I love my dog and she has been very special to me and name Leo or Leona is a good name.

Maxiums is not a name to be made fun of. Some people have such dull boring names. I dont see what the probably is thats a cute little name and you can call him Max. I went to school with a guy with that name.

Dont let peoples dumb opinions get to you. I want to name my daughter Anastasia and my old friend had said oh their is a women with that name is 50 shades of grey trying to be a perv I guess. I love that name and Im.keeping it.


Your son will grow well into his name and be confident, some people have dumb names and no backbone. Smdh

I suggested that name to someone on a post about masculine names :)......Every name we think of someone has something negative to say ..from now on I won't tell anyone our ideas till she arrives and they sure as heck better not make fun of it then!!!

I love the name max. My husband and I are refusing to tell anyone our name because of that reason of people judging and putting thier opinions out there. It already happened with girl names that I chose, luckily we are having a boy and won't tell anyone until he's here and named.
