people should have more respect for the names parents pick

I hate it that people ask what are we naming our son and when we share they make fun of it like idiots. I picked a name and my husband picked the middle name , he picked Maximus which he loves and thinks its it's a strong name. I didn't warm up to  the name at first but I had to respect his choice . well today my brother asked what we were naming our baby and when I said Maximus he laughed and said "oh like gluteus maximus lol" and we both just said "yeah sure like that" smh. Does anyone else get this also? Is there something wrong with that name for reals?

I have a similar problem. We are going to name our baby Thomas Lynn if its a boy. Thomas after my grandfather and Lynn after my husbands grandfather. We have family members (on my Hubby's side) that don't like Lynn. Its a family name!! I just don't get it. If they don't like it they can get over it. I think Maximus is a great name!

If we were having a boy his name would of been Sawyer, everyone said "huckle berry fin" "tom sawyer" blah blah. It didnt really bother me but it was annoying. It shouldn't matter to anyone but you, why people get all bent over something that really has nothing to do with them I don't know.
We're having a girl and even know if its her name isn't "uncommon" people still have an opinion. Silly really.

Is that the first name or middle? Either way I have a friend who has a ten month old named Maxximus..two x's. And she mostly calls him Maxx. It's so cute, in my opinion. At the end of the day..it's what you think that matters and that's all!! I mean think about the kids named Apple for crying out loud, lol!
