possible miscarriage

Last night I spent 6 hours in the emergency room because I had severe sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen and began bleeding at 1130 last night. The doctor said I should be 6 weeks at this point and my hormone levels are very low and they could not locate a heart beat so it's a possible miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. I am still bleeding and having problems getting around and its difficult to explain the feeling I have in my groin. I have never felt it before and pretty much all I can do is lay around. I have to.go tomorrow to the obgyn to get more blood work to see if my levels have gone down and another examination I think. I know I'm going tomorrow butthe hospital didn't ease my mind. I'm so unsure of what's going on.  Ha anyone experienced this before and tell me if it is a miscarriage will I just keep bleeding or will I pass clots out and if it's not a miscarriage can it be okay from all the pain and bleeding?

That's pretty much what I was thinking because I have a 5 year old and never had anything like this so I guess tomorrow it'll be confirmed. Thank you both.

I had the same thing happen to me last year and yes it sounds like the beginning of a miscarriage....I starting spotting...went to ER...they diagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage....my spotting eventually turned into heavy bleeding....I know its a scary time for you.....but just go to the doc and see what they say.

I had this happen with my first pregnancy and it is beginning stages of a miscarriage I ended up bleeding for a couple days then passed a big clot which was the fetus sac. My hormone levels were very low and kept becoming lower they called it a dissolving pregnancy sorry hun its always hard.going threw miscarriages but I'd give ur body time to flush it's self out and a couple months u could tryagain I did and a year later after my first miscarriage I had a healthy boy and now 3 years down the road I'm on my 3 baby and my one baby in heaven from miscarriage
