postpartum 6 week exam?

For all mommy veterans out there what can I expect to happen at my 6 week exam? I'm a FTM and these past few weeks have gone by so quickly having a newborn I want to return to work as soon as possible to help out with expenses. Hopefully the following week after my exam. Have anyone had to stay out of work longer? Also how soon can I expect to be able to have sex again after healing? 6 weeks doesn't seem to be long enough to me. All new to me anything helps as I am getting anxious.

I was thinkin about sex a week after delivery if u have it too soon u can get an infection though but yea if doc clears u start when ur ready maybe talk with ur husband before the "count down day" and let him know u don't think u wanna just jump his bones in the car after appt having a baby is a life and body altering experience.

Okay I thought I was weird for thinking about sex after four weeks lol I feel ready but I don't feel ready, if that makes sense. I'm just worried if I'm healed properly, I feel like I'll mess up things down there if I ever have sex again. My husband on the other handis just counting down the days lol

Yup at the six week they do another pelvic exam to make sure youre healing fine. Plus the usual stuff like weight and blood pressure. They'll ask how your feeling to make sure you're not suffering from post partum depression and discuss birth control options if you're interested in that. If you are you can leave with a prescription that day. Unless you haven't healed fully you'll get the okay for sex but it's up to you when you actually have sex. I've always waited until after my six wk appointment to start but with my last I was feeling good enough to start at four wks lol.
