external cephalic version

Went to the doctor today and found out my baby is breech. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and next week I'm going for a ultrasound to confirm position. My doctor wants to do a external cephalic version to try to turn the baby. Has anyone had this done and what us your opinion on them? If this work my doctor with induce me right after and if it does not work I'll have to schedule a c section. Just looking for thoughts and opinions.

I've personally never had this done however I know a friend who has. She said it hurt a lot. But it worked for her. She went into labor a couple days after.
