preparation for birth PAINLESS BIRTH?

Hello ladies, im 26.4 weeks pregnant and im kind of looking forward to the natural birth. Ive been (first listening
about it and now) reading about painless labor and birth. I wouldnt believe in it , since 99% of women use the term
PAIN, but i personally know couple of women who ,after reading this book as well, went at it and had those painless
births, and had a wonderful excpiriences, and one of them cant wait to be pregnant and do it allover again! Crazy huh?
anyway, the book is written by Kelly J Townsend, Christ Centered Childbirt, where she fully explains  the process of contractions, labor and birth, and how breathing is soooo important and how painless labor is possible....so im really curious how YOU and what do you do to prepare for giving birth. Are you even aware of the fact that you dont need to have this terrifying experience and that you can control it???? what to you all think about it?

I also believe that is just the metter of rephrasing the word PAIN. but its about educating yourself  as well, knowing what is happening to your body during contractions, accepting the reality, and knowing that pain causes the lack of oxygen, and that is absolutely neccesary to bread during them, and it has to be easier in some way.... also knowing your body and staying concentrated during labor..... the book is just amazing and i would recommended to everyone..... even the stuborn ladies who dont believe in it... ;))

Everone is different and will have different opinion if you feel the book will help you go with your gut your labour will be as painful/ painless as you want it to be as you are in control!!! My second labour was unbareable but lookin back it was because I got myself worked up I gave birth last march and this time it was fine I went into trance mode and blocked out the pain sounds mad I know but it really worked :) im due again in may and will be using my trance method again hope all works out for you.

Sorry the book sounds like a crock. There is pain in having a baby. Its just that way. It is different for every woman and every delivery, though there is still pain involved. Breath through it, you hear people say... well let me tell you sometimes the pain can be so bad you cant breath..natural drug free delivery is possible,  I pritty much sid it with my third. However Iwas on the drip as I was induced.

There are some birthing methods that think that using the word pain caused fear and stress, so they call it discomfort or other similar words. This doesn't make it a "painless" experience, it just reframes it. Our minds are powerful. If you go into it believing that the pain will be more than you can bear, it most likely will be. And vice versa. I had a great natural birth experience. Even with pitocin I never had contractions that were more painful than menstrual cramps. Stay flexible, relax, and let things happen. Definitely don't think that you are doing something wrong if it is more painful than you thought.
