And most of the time it goes away after you deliver...so I'm hoping that'll be the case for me.
I found out I have it about 12 weeks ago. I basically just have to watch how many carbs I eat in a day. And obviously eat healthy carbs. The main concern for women with gestational diabetes is if your sugars aren't getting processed correctly then you can end up with a big baby and they would have trouble with natural delivery.
It's diabetes that develops in pregnant woman. Many cam control their sugars with diet and exercise, but some Mom's like "normal" diabetics need medication and insulin. It can be very dangerous and needs to be caught early - which is why you pee in a cup every time you visit your OB or midwife.
