I smoked for 10 years and quit the second i found out i was pregnant. Cold turkey is the only way to do it if you are actually going to quit. You will be "cutting down" your entire pregnancy and you dont want that crap going into your baby.
I'm sure everyone's different of course. I've smoked for 9 years now. And my doctor told me defiantly don't quit cold turkey. It can cause a miscarriage. As the previous person said. I cut back a lot but have continued smoking this whole pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks now. And my baby girl is healthy and a big baby! After smoking for 1 year, I quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my first at 6 weeks. She was born healthy at 39 weeks 6 days. It's been harder with this one cause I've been smoking a lot longer. It's all up to you what you want to do. It's your body & your baby. I wouldn't do anything tho until you discuss it with your doctor. Good luck!
I quit cold turkey with my first baby (2.5 years ago) n everything was fine. It was a lot easier than cutting down n dragging it on too!I was a heavy smoker for years n tried everything to give up before I got pregnant but nothing worked. Getting pregnant changed that tho n ive not smoked since. Good luck!
I was a heavy smoker and my doctor told me no harm would be caused if I quit cold turkey.. I quit cold turkey with my first pregnant and with this one.. And I have a healthy daughter and healthy baby on the way.. I don't even crave cigarettes anymore.
I'm not a heavy smoker but when I was like A month pregnant I had no clue I was pregnant but I was in so much stress so I smoked like crazy the whole time but I just stopped as soon as I found out I just thought that would be best! Lol
Thank you that's what I've been trying to do... I just feel really guilty every time I do it
Stopping cold turkey can cause stress on you and the baby and could increase the risk of miscarriage. My doctor told me to cut back to a few a day and try to slowly quit. Its hard. Good luck.
