First Doctors Appointment

I have to go to my first docotor's appointment which I was told will be very long and thorough.  I feel like I want to go alone but my husband offered  to go with me. Is it better to go alone? Or better to have him there? I just think it would be ackward.

Your partner should be there. At mine they went over genetic info and it was very informative for him...we women pick this stuff up throughout our lives and are more inclined to read up when we have questions, but guys may take more in in an appointment...it also makes him a part of the process from the beginning with the Dr.

I went alone. Mine wasnt too long but they did ask a lot of questions and some pertained to his family history. I couldnt really answer those questions without guessing so it might be good for him to be there and i didnt think it was boring so he might be interested!
