recovery time...

Im a ftm at 22+6 and I've heard some people say that having an epidural makes your recovery time longer and worse. I have a low pain tolerance and don't know if ill be able to handle labor without an epidural, even tho the thought of that needle in my back terrifies me. Sometimes I think I'm almost more afraid of the recovery process than actual delivery. What have some of you other moms experienced? How bad was the recovery process?

With my 1st I didn't use anything for pain with my 2nd I was induced and ended up forgetting my fear of the epidural and got it. I actually recovered faster with my 2nd child. I think it all depends on you physically and mentally how fast you recover. But if it's it will take a little longer to recover. If it isn't then your body knows what to expect and recovery is simpler. If it helps I also feared the needle going into my spine, my sister said it hurt to but when I got it I just focused on breathing through contractions and never even felt them stick needle in.

The only thing that made my recovery terrible was my episiotomy. The problem I have with epidurals is they don't work.
