restless hands??

I sleep on my side at night. For the past week i have been waking up a dozen times at night because my arms (elbow down), hands, and first three fingers (thumb, index, middle) are asleep, tingling, and throbbing. It takes forever to go away. Over and over and over. I noticed today when i was straightening my hair that it was happening. Actually its happening now as i type. Its always the same fingers. Sometimes its one hand and sometimes both depending on what i am doing. What in the world is going on???? Is this normal?? I dont have my first appt until 9-30.

This is a result of Carple tunnel in your wrists. They make braces you can sleep in or wear around your house that will keep you from bending or rolling your wrist in your sleep and compressing the nerves. They're a little awkward but help a lot! If your ring fingers and pinkies begin doing it its called cubital tunnel and its in your elbows. I have both is these things in both arms from working on an assembly line. The braces for cubital tunnel aren't much fun because they keep your arms completely straight as its a result of compressing nerves in your elbows. I hope you find relief soon, good luck!!

This is one of my chief complaints. Its so annoying. Mind don't go numb but when I wake up my hands look and feel like I'm 80 years old. I can not even come close to closing them. Its like I'm paralyzed. It is so normal and so annoying. It started about 25 weeks for me, and had gotten more frequent (when I'm typing this ) as time goes on. 33 weeks tomorrow

Yep its normal! It's pregnancy carpal tunnel. I had it with my first and now I have it with this one! It's annoying but I got used to it. I was in my third trimester both pregnancies when it started occurring so if you haven't even had your first appt yet that's seems really soon. I would ask the Dr about it but it shouldn't be a concern! Every woman's body is different!
