Ladies, I don't  believe you have anything at all to worry about. Only one out of the three who were infected has died. The other two show improvement. Nigeria and Senegal are now Ebola free. I don't see why it's such a big deal if a hospital became a treatment center because your care provider won't know how to take care of a situation unless they are trained. I think everything will be alright.

I'm 27 weeks with my 1st baby and I'm a labor nurse at a major hospital on fort Worth. We are preparing for the possibility of an ebola patient but by no means are the health care personal worried constantly about it like the media and general public. Try to to worry!

Also, hospitals do an excellent job to isolate patients that are sick and have specific protocols enacted to ensure they keep other patients safe. Try not to worry.

I don't believe you need to worry about this. It seems like it is spreading a lot only because its a hot news topic right now. I'm a nurse in a hospital...all patients are screened apon admission and assessed everyday. I believe there are more risks going shopping than being in the hospital...and we shop everyday without concern. Talk to your hospital and birthing center about your concerns and the risks. I'm sure they would be able to provide information and reassurance. I do not feel we are anywhere near the risk of having a huge outbreak in the U.S. plus things are already in the works of quickly containing and resolving it if it were to occur. Hospital staff are being educated and trained to recognize Ebola early on to prevent the spread.

Mfayb the person on the cruise ship isn't sick. They were potentially exposed but not showing any symptoms and are being quarantined voluntarily.

I believe that people who commented on here about just washing your hands are corrsct but that still doesnt take the fear away b/c we dont know exactly who has what ,i live in the Atlantic City ,NJ ;im not really close to that area but if it can spread even w/ the proper protection (doctors on the news said so) on then we dont truly know if it wont spread even when washing your hands

#GreekMom1213 you couldn't of put in better terms, I completely agree with you. That said...it still scares the crap out of me. I live a couple hours from Dallas and I can honestly say we fear it will spread. But hopefully they are getting everything under control now. People lets wash wash those hands!! Stay healthy everyone♡

There is another suspected case getting off a cruise ship in Galveston tomorrow.  We live in Houston TX so it's a huge concern. But also even more so I am scared of the virus that's spreading in children.  I have a two year old and I haven't been taking her to our usual downtown activities :(

I am more concerned about the enterovirus d68. I have a 3 year old that I was gonna put in pre school, but have decided to hold off until after flu season. She hasn't been in day care or exposed to many other children so to put her in now with this going around scares me, not to mention with a new baby due to arrive in January.

Ahhhh ladies, you are in the US.... im in South-Africa amd I think there is more cases here than there.... but I am not worried..... The hospital staff and drs are all aware of this and takes extra percausions at the moment, and to stress about it now will just make baby stressed

I've been thinking about it too! I live in north texas where the man who lied about having it died from it! Now they discovered tht one of the nurses who was helping to treat him hve it now! I pray tht they get it contained so we dnt hve to worry about it as much! For now, I trust NO ONE!!! I keep washing my hands EVERY chance I get! (especially at work). I make sure my family and house is covered too!

It bothers me that it's in the states but if you read anything about it you know that it's not something you need to be extremely scared of. As long as you aren't handling bodily fluids of someone who has or has died of Ebola you should be fine. Just wash your hands thoroughly after adventuring out and about.

I think for all the mommies yall will have a peace of mind if you investigate if yhe hospital your giving birth has any patients that have it as yall get closer to due date. All you have to do is call or look online. Most hospitals have a labor and delivery floor and were they keep the babies separated from all the sick patients but just to be safe than sorry just ask your hospital once ur close to due date.  God bless you all

Its really not spreading fast considering currently we only have two confirmed active Ebola cases (the two nurses from Texas hospital). As someone else mentioned, you'd sooner catch the flu.

Yess! Couldn't of put it better! We will all be fine, doctors are being trained as we speak and soon people will forget all about this little scare. You can die from anything not just Ebola.

It's not really "spreading so fast" it's mainly that the fearmongering required for ratings in the 24-hour news cycle has made it impossible for anyone to shut up about the... what? Three cases so far in the US? It's really truly not something to be terrified of. Precautions were obviously not taken appropriately in Dallas because nobody had it on their radar and isolation didn't happen quickly enough. Now it's on everyone's radar and training is happening all over the country (all over the world) to protect hospital staff and other patients. It's not a pandemic and isn't likely to become one - it's not airborne and is in fact pretty difficult to transmit. It's not like the movies, it's not the same as the plague, it's not anywhere near as contagious as the flu. It's all gonna be okay. Everybody truly just has to learn to wash their hands.

Yes! I was just crying about this earlier because my husband is convinced it's going to turn into a devastating pandemic. Not a topic I can discuss without absolutely falling apart right now! It's truly terrifying. The movie contagion will scare the bejeezus out of you too! :'(
