second trimester genetic testing.

Just wondering if you can find out the sex from the second trimester testing. I found out I was pregnant too late for the first trimester testing. Waiting for results now.

I had a genetic test done at 10 weeks, it calls informaseq(it used to beharmony). It tests for abnormality of baby's chromosome. The result should have only two chromosomes that are XX(girl)or XY(boy). My insurance didn't cover, but I got a special deal from my clinic. It normally is 800, I paid 250.

I'm 16 weeks and still have 3-4 weeks until my ultrasound but I had genetic testing done last week so I thought I might be able to find out sooner with the testing but I'm not sure of only certain tests let you know gender. I was too late for harmony and didn't qualify for panorama

Actually they can let you know as early as 9 WEEEKS! By an exam called Panorama testing which is a blood exam where they can tell you the sex and other possible genetics problems BUT most insurances dont cover it and it can cost up to 6,000

Second trimester is usually when you find out which is around 17-20 weeks depending on your doctor and if your baby not keeping his or her legs closed..
