And also you do bleed for a while after giving birth. I bled for 5 weeks. But yes if you test it takes time to heal.

The hospital told me it was because there is technically a wound from where your placenta was attached that needs to heal. Inserting anything vaginally could introduce bacteria in your uterus and cause infection.

It is also due to the fact you may not know if you had your period or not. (Bleeding can take up to 6 weeks to stop after birth....If you have your period while still passing blood from birth you would never know and risk the chance of becoming pregnant...which in return puts you and the new pregnancy in risk....not enough time for your uterus to heal!)

I had sex about 2 weeks after my son and then found out about the risk of infection (luckily I went on antibiotics anywaz for mastitis) and its not just if u tear or get cut u have to worry about ur entire vaginal canal could have some tearing. I was super horny after my son and extremely curious about how the ol girl had held up but ill definitely wait this time cuz I couldn't imagine having a nasty infection down there (yeast infections suck enough on their own)

Ive had it after 8 day's it was completely fine and we used a condom which is what the hospital advised if we want to do it before 6 weeks I didn't have any stitches or tears from the minute she was born I felt completely normal again

From what my midwife told me its to allow your body to heal. Your uterus has gone through a huge or deal and it has to have time to go back into shape. Plus if you tear or have to have an episiotomy your at risk from infection so they suggest as well to wait a little longer. Personally I couldn't think of anything worse after just having a baby lol my energy levels wouldn't last two seconds but each to their own. These are just guidelines from healthcare professionals x

I think that first it's  because your body is not healed. Secondly the risk of bacteria and other foreign substances posing unnecessary risk to your body is heightened.
