sex safe after losing mucous plug?

Is it safe to have sex after losing your mucous plug? I'm already 40 weeks. Since, last Wednesday I'm dilated 3cm and 50% effaced barely going to be checked on Monday to see if their had been any improvement..

its when your water breaks and you have sex that you can get an infection.  its incuraged to have sex after your mucous plug comes out to get you going into labour.  go for it momma! Im a momma of 4, ive been told all 4 times it ok and safe to do. and honestly there is no better way to get your labour going as having a good wild go at having crazy sex with your man. lol

My dr told me I'm still perfectly fine to have sex & take baths & even swim in pools or lakes or wherever and im 38 weeks 80% effaced and 3 cm. As long as your waters aren't broken your baby is 100% protected. But always ask your dr, they know best for you personally.

Consult your doctor before you have sex.  It's not worth the risk of infection!

Everything I read says no. Losing your mucus plug opens things up to infection. But double check with ur doctor.

No. If your cervix is open and he ejaculates inside you it can cause an infection. Thats what my dr told me. I wouldn't.
