I hear the braxton hicks are not supposed to be painful. Its okay to call your Dr or labor and delivery to see if this is normal or something they want to see you for.

Sharp pains are probably your baby's head or other body part pressing on your cervix. I get them a lot (I'm nearly 37 weeks). The tightening pains sound like Braxton Hicks contractions. Both are normal, even if they are very uncomfortable.

I'm 34 wks tomorrow and I get quite a bit a Braxton hicks contractions which aren't painful just a bit uncomfy sometimes and I have recently been feeling a strain, maybe sharp, or pressure like pain on the left side of my pelvis (I always say my vagina hurts lol) not sure exactly why but I will bring it up at my doc appt which is in 2 days. As long as the contractions u feel are not increasing in intensity and close together u should be ok but bring it up to ur doctor. Better to be safe. Good luck!

I've been having the sharp pains down there too but my belly hasn't really been getting tight so I don't know =/ I just figured it was the way baby is moving but it's really painful. I'm also almost 34 weeks
