Wasnt** sorry my typing has been off. The doctor said he wasn't worried about our 20 month old because he has had the varcella vaccine.

My husband had them around his eye a few weeks ago. From what the doctor told us he was worried about our 20 month old I guess because he's had the varcella vaccine. From what I've researched shingles isn't contagious to those who have had chicken pox already or the vaccine. It is only contagious If you've never had the chicken pox or the vaccine. It also said that If you are pregnant and get shingles while pregnant not to be overly concerned because it only resides in your nerve endings and that the baby y is protected from the antibodies in your body. The research I did said that If you are pregnant and have never had chicken pox to stay away from someone with shingles because chicken pox can cause issues with the pregnancy and baby because chicken pox is a bodily virus unlike shingles that is only in the nerve endings.

With my first pregnancy I developed shingles around 4 months.  They say you can get them if you habe ever had the chicken pox. They said I developed them from stress. But my baby was perfectly fine as long as it was treated.  She is now 8 yrs old and was healthy after delivery

My husband found out a few weeks ago that he came down with the shingles. N he went to the e.r and he had to stay away from me and our 3 year old daughter Bcus it was very contagious n it can be dangerous for pregnant women. But since u got it check out early you and baby should be fine:-)
