first trimester screening

I was wondering if anybody had a first trimester screening and was told the sex of the baby??? Was the doctor correct ??? I was told I'm having a boy at 13 wks, I saw a nub but no balls the nub was pointing down . If anybody can give me they're opinion on it please let me kno or please share ur stories. Thx

Those parts don't even develop until 12/13 weeks, I've seen places that offer gender at 15 weeks via 3/4D u/s but they say that they can't even tell before 14 weeks so I don't know

At ur 12 wk scan was the nub pointing down ??? Don't get me wrong I'm happy my baby is very healthy but we were kinda hoping for a girl since we have 4 boys between the 2 of us

I would take it as a guess,I was told i was having a Boy at the 12week scan and you could clearly see what looked like boys bits and the scan lady said she was 98% sure that was a Boy but then at the 20week scan i was told its a Girl!And i have had lots of scans since and its a Girl.

I would say thats a premature guess. At 12 weeks the fetus starts to show signs of sex but usually u cannot be sure until around 16 weeks even then is early. Dont bank on it as stated before its a 50/50 i cant believe they even tried to make a guess thats unusual!

I had an ultrasound done at 12 weeks and the tech was certain we were having a girl. 9 weeks later had our anatomy scan and we are clearly having a boy. If a tech sees a penis its more definite than not. So if you are that early on and they say girl i would wait to celebrate but if they say boy your chances are much much higher that its correct:)

Both male & female have a nub in the first trimester. However, my tech told me at 11+1 that she was 85% sure it was a boy (nub was straight out). I have had 6 more ultrasounds since then & it is a boy. But it's best to wait until atleast 16 weeks to be sure.

You wouldn't see any balls til 3rd trimester anyways they don't descend til then. My dr said at that stage it could be the cord they see so I had to wait til 18wks but its a boy

Thx I didn't think so either but u are rite about the 50/50 shot lol

My doctor won't even try to guess till your at least 16 weeks that early they look so much alike. And then they say they could be wrong. But they do have a 50/50 shot of being right lol
