You don't have to worry about sleeping in your left side that early in your pregnancy. I use two blankets and my love to prop up against. Got a body pillow but it's too big for the bed.
I find myself on my back sometimes. b I've heard of women putting something in the back of their bra so if they roll over they wake up.
Oh love u will get use to it.With my first kid I barricade myself in pillows 5 on one side 5 on the other so I didn't roll on my stomch or u can use a body pillow. But with this one I don't use ether.
I generally sleep my stomach when I wasn't pregnant. Now that I'm 35 weeks along I sleep on any side that I'm comfortable. Lord knows as time goes on it gets harder to sleep at night. Cuz I'm sleep by 9 and up by 3. Sometimes I find myself sleeping setting up. That's also very comfortable when I'm on the sofa or in the bed.
I only lay on my left side when watching TV or reading before bed. Occasionally after I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I'll try to go back to sleep on my left side but I ultimately end up on my right. It's the only way I actually get sleep. I wouldn't stress yourself out too much. I got at $10 body pillow from target and that's helped my comfort (and prevented me from rolling on my stomach)
Im 35 weeks and still find it most comfortable on my stomach with my leg bent up. I move so much at night that I dont think it makes a huge difference. Also the doctor has never brought up my sleeping habits so I doubt they are actually concerned!! Sleep however you can :)
Right now for me it's the only way I can sleep. I have pregnancy induced carpal tunnel in my right arm,so if I sleep on my right side,I'm up all night in pain. My husband sleeps on my left side,so I get the bonus of snuggling him. Otherwise, I'm still sleeping on my tummy at 22weeks.
I'll be 38 weeks Monday and I sleep however I feel is more comfortable even though it's hard to get comfortable now. I try elevating myself with pillows if I sleep on back. Sometimes I fall asleep in recliner.
Just sleep however you feel most comfortable. :)
I sleep on my left, right, stomach and back. I notice I'm most comfortable on my back even though I'm 29 wks. left side sleeping is not mandatory during pregnancy.
I spoke to my dr. About this and researched it doesn't matter left or right. Left is an old wives tale. As for you back my dr. Recommended up until about 20 weeks. If you wake up on your back in the middle of the night no big deal just roll on your side and go back to sleep. I use a body pillow that I already had because I didn't want to spend the extra. Works great but I am in a pillow cocoon most nights lol be sure to put a pillow in between your legs/knees when sleeping on your side.
Once the baby grows more you will begin to notice which side is more comfortable. My little one kicks and balls up in a knot when I sleep a certain way and she lets me know when she's not comfortable.
I sleep however typically on my right since I was hit by a car and thrown into the air and landed on my right shoulder and that was the only way I could stop the pain and now that is the way I sleep. On my 3rd and haven't had any problems. I don't think this rule has been around forever and look how we all turned out.
If you happen to switch left to right its not going to be to bad its just they prefer you to lay on your left bc better blood flow to the baby that way as long as your trying and doing it for at least half the night you should be ok I'm 22 weeks and cant lay on my left side whole night I switch on and off to ....but I've heard the pillow can help to....and if your just relaxing lay on left side this will help to...good luck
Thank you everyone for your reply. I will have to consider a pregnancy pillow now. & yes, I will enjoy my sleep until I need to sleep on my side.
I sleep on either side.. I have a pregnancy pillow that my husband and I share.. Lol..
sleep however is comfortable. left side thing is alittle extreme and scares alot of mom's. either side is fine and your completely safe on your back right now your baby isn't big enough to compress anything. im 30 wks and sleep on either side and sometimes on my back. my midwife team has said being on your back isn't a problem unless you feel uncomfortable on it or have symptoms of decreased circulation like dizziness, breathlessness and nausea. if you wake up on your back dont freak, just take inventory of how you feel if you feel good your fine. but really just enjoy sleeping anyway you want right now cuz it gets tougher down the road.
Sleep however is comfortable, left or right side it really doesn't matter. Left is best but there is nothing wrong with the right side And i was told not to worry about it till second trimester.
and when you get in the third trimester you sleep in what ever position you can fall asleep. Some nights I sleep sitting straight up in a chair so I say do what Is comfortable
I agree! Sleeping on left side *****! I have been tossing and turning all night. Time to get as body pillow! :)
I tried sleeping exclusively on my left side, but my hips killed all day long. Pillow or no. So I just sleep however I'm comfortable. And baby is fine. :)
Im 35 weeks and tend to flip between sides, I personally can't always sleep on the same side. Occasionally I'll wake up sleeping on my back. (Not the most comfortable at this point, but that's just where I end up)
I sleep how ever I want and my son is fine...I'm 33wks
I sleep however I feel comfortable and baby is just fine at 27 weeks
I don't. Last pregnancy, I slept on my tummy until a little after 20 weeks, when my son started letting me know he didn't like it by constantly kicking me. Then, I just a body pillow and other pillows but I still slept on both sides. I'm 18.5 weeks now and still sleeping on my tummy again.
Get a pregnancy pillow ..I had same problem but after I got it I sleep so comfortably. .. I ordered of Amazon
