sleepytime tea

Has one of u ladies drink it when pregnant? Since I haven't been able to calm down, cause I'm very stressed out lately, my Dr told me to drink chamomile tea, so I bought that tea so I can sleep and some other for pregnant women, I read the reviews last night and pregnant women said they were fine drink it, so I drank it, and last night while I was sleeping, I had like pinching pain on my right side of my pelvic area, about 4 times, and now I have pain again, not cramping or anything extreme, but it bothers me a little, do u guys think is from the tea? Or is it me being paranoid?

Herbal teas are generally avoided during pregnancy unless your Dr says otherwise. Some herbals are okay like peppermint, spearmint, and ginger, however most have not been studied enough in pregnancy to determine their safety. Things like ginseng, echinacheae, stinging nettles, and others should be avoided entirely

Then I'm not gonna drink the one for pregnancy because it has raspberry leaf, peppermint leaf, nettle leaf, spearmint leaf, dandelion root, fennel seed and cardamon seed

I looked into sleepytime tea and found some of the herbs in it were contraindicated when pregnant... I would read the ingredients on your brand and look up each one

Half of those are recommended for combating morning sickness. Celestial Seasonings that makes the tea has been around forever, Sleepytime is their most popular tea, if it posed any risk, it would be a big deal and be in all the books. And Celestial Seasonings would change the recipe

That is not from the tea, it is raspberry leaf tea that is bad. Nothing wrong with Sleeptime or other chamomile teas. There is no history of chamomile being used as an abortive. It is probably the safest tea you could possible drink.

My Dr asked me to discontinue any form of herb use. I'm a huge tea drinker, but I stopped. She mentioned that over time chamomile tea consumption can turn into an abortifacent. It can give contractions and throw me at preterm delivery. Then again I was considered high risk since I found out I was pregnant. But to play it safe I discontinued all tea use.

How far along are you? That could be the baby moving. That's how I felt my first daughter move. I had some sleepy time tea lastnight as I caught a terrible head cold. If it persists and it's only when you drink the tea I recommend you to stop.
