Car seat question

Mom's of multiples (toddler and new baby's) how do you set your car seats? With my son I always keep him in the middle, but it's just him. Now with baby number two is it safe to put them next to each other? Both will be rear facing so he shouldn't be able to reach  the baby....thoughts?

I put each kid in opposite ends...just something about the older kid being close enough to touch unsupervised didn't sit well with me.

My step son was a lil over 2 when my lil one was born and i started with baby in the middle. He would throw toys, paci, sippy cup whatever he had at the baby. He did it all the time though but in a car i wasn't holding the baby to stop it you know. So i had to put baby by the other window and keep his seat canopy open to block flying objects.

I'm putting my 6 year old in between mine. My other son will have just turned 1 when she's born and my 6 year old is a great help.
