My doc said you only pass it on if you have a vaginal birth c section moms are ok but hospital policies still have the doc test for it anyway
There is a wash you can use so you don't have to be hooked up to an IV the whole time
They get infections difficulty breathing and such. That's why I'm worries I would hate to pass it on.
What happens if its passed to the bqby?
No I have placenta previa. So I have to have a c section.
I tested positive for it also but my doctor didn't say anything about a c-section. She just said I'll be on antibiotics when I give birth, she told me it's on everyones skin and that a lot of women will test positive for having it in their vagina. Are you having a c-section bc of the step B?
I tested negative but I asked what would happen if I tested positive and my midwife told me all that would happen is they'd give me an iv with penicillin while I was in labor so it couldn't be passed to the baby. So if that's the case I wouldn't worry.
Ive tested positive for it with my past two pregnancies and now this one too..dont stress though its a normal thing some of us get but there is medicine for it so your baby won't get it!
I'm positive to. She said if I don't get enough vaccine it could go to baby and they will test his blood but not to worry.
I was tested positive for strep B and I was nervous about it too. But it's pretty common. I was given antibiotics for 1 week. Don't stress yourself out to much about it. Once your treated you & the baby will be fine
Its very common in like 70% of women. Just make sure you get your IV antibiotics as soon as you can if your water breaks.....you would be less likely to pass it to your baby if you get the antibiotics in fast....don't stress over it :)
