sugar sugar sugar... Help

I haven't done much research on GD but does your sugar intake have anything to do with it? Everything I want to eat or drink has to do with sugar, from coffees to sweet breads, ice cream, syrup, pop, anything sweet. Is this normal? I haven't done the GD test and I'm 31 wks. The reason is because I've had no health insurance. Please help!

They might do a urine test first to see if youvare leaking sugars first and then send you for a glucose tolerance test. AmandaPanda85 gave a good explanation and great advice.

You need to see a doc asap. If affects the growth of your baby. If baby geta too big the may want to do a c-section. they may give you the test to see where your sugars are. But please see a doc. Most states have pregnancy Medicaid for women.  Try to get emergency help from them.

It has to do with how the insulin your body produces reacts to the sugar you intake. The more sugar/carbs you intake the more insulin your body needs to produce to cover it. Try to cut back on the sweets and carbs, walk after meals until you can get tested.
