surprise glucose test!

So I went in for my 30wk appointment today expecting it to be the usual quick in and out with us scheduling my glucose test at the end and instead they just gave me the glucose test right then and there!  I really hope I don't fail. I wasn't prepared at all. I had an eggo waffle with a little bit of syrup, a piece of buttered toast, and about six ounces of Dr Pepper. The nurse said it'll be fine but I would have ate something else and skipped the pop if I had know I would be taking the test. I'm really glad I resisted the chocolate covered mini donuts that were calling my name this morning lol. Has anyone else taken the test after a sweet breakfast?

They surprised me with a glucose test too lol I'd had like blueberry pancakes and Dr. pepper or something for breakfast. Passed just fine.
Get a load of this, though. At my 33 weeks appointment I had eaten like two bowls of Capn Crunch and drank a Dr. pepper, they said I had sugar in my urine, then poked my finger and did a test strip, came back normal. It hadn't even been an hour LOL

I'm hoping so. I'm not going to worry too much about it. Nothing i can do to change it now anyway. I do wish i had chose water or milk for breakfast instead of pop though lol. I was just needing the little caffeine boost lol.

I'm in the US. with my previous three kids the office i went to made me fast from midnight before my test. I had another office at the beginning of this pregnancy and they told me just to not eat after 8am and what I did eat for it not to be sugary. I left that office before the test though do to insurance issues. The nurse wasn't concerned at all though and she was nice enough to mix the glucose drink with water instead of giving me it straight like I've always had before and it was much easier to drink this time. Oh and I just have to say the nurse was fantastic at drawing the blood! I didn't feel the needle at all.
