switching hospitals

Hi all. Has anyone switched hospitals in the second trimester? I'm 17 wks so far have liked the hospital I'm at but have heard bad things about birth at this hospital, and another hospital in my area has a much better reputation for birth. Does it really matter so much where you go? It seems like a hassle to switch at this point but may be worth it?

Yes, I've had to switch the hospitals because of my husband's transfer at new place. I did that around 26 weeks. There is a hassle because my older hospital wouldn't send all the documents even tho I had signed the release form. And at my new hospital, I have to ask for everything. For example my glucose test was done at 32 weeks per my request. I had my pap smears st 34 weeks.  And my doc doesn't tell me how the baby is, I have to ask eve r y single time....but o hope you get a good doctor who is thorough and caring for his patients

I've had a lot of insurance complications while pregnant and I had to switch hospitals and I'm 25 weeks. I would take a tour and see how you feel in person about it.

Do what's best for you and baby you should be able to find the hospital stats and find out their customer satisfaction rate by checking city records.
