talk about embarrassing

I was at work last night and saw a woman with a baby girl. I told her she was adorable and she said she was only 7 months old. I then asked if the lady was her Grandmother (she looked my mom's age) her face changed quickly and said she was her mother! ○-° I felt soooo bad. I didn't know what to do.

Same here lol, I never ask questions like... How far along or are you the grandma, because you never know how badly that can turn around lol. I just wait to see if they say something, or just talk about the baby. Even in my ob's office when I see a bigger women and she's asking about my baby (I'm small with a huge baby bump so no secret here) I dont ask questions back because my luck she is just a big woman there for an annual exam lol. Always play it safe!

I always ask first if they are the mother. Just in case. And also when I see someone with a belly bump I don't ask if their pregnant cause what if their not. I just remain discrete.
I'm also a curious person.
