the dog

Does anyone have a small dog that has no sense of the baby in your belly? People say animals can sense us pregnant. Yet my dog just walks literally all over me. Just now Im laying here and she decides shes going to jump on my belly so she can go to the other side of the bed WTF! Im 30wks along and she's using my belly as a stepping stone grrr.

I do discipline my dog, She is very good at listening but has no clue about this bump. That's why I'm so frustrated with her.   I also have a cat and he is amazing around me.  He loves to lay next the bump on the bed and just purrs.

One of my dogs is obsessed with being near it and cuddling. The other not as much, but since day 1 i just blocked them from jumping across it and they learned quick that it wasn't a spring for jumping off of anymore. They are very careful with it. They even look at me when they want to put a paw on it, like am i gonna hurt it. It's cute. They're little yorkies.

I have a little dog who thinks my belly is some kind of cushion to dit on when we are in the car. My cat seems to understand more and is very careful, he even purrs really loudly and rubs up against the bump when I'm sitting down. Perhaps because the belly is warmer?!?

I'm 15 weeks and work in a grooming salon with 2 other pregnant women, believe me the dog knows. Most dogs won't really react differently. At work some dogs known to be aggressive aren't and some dogs that are really sweet will growl and won't let us touch them. It's weird.

Just like kids dogs need discipline. Which can be done very passive and very gentle. A simple "ouch, no doggie, you hurt mom" may do.my dog knows he can rough house with hubby but he is very gentle with me even before pregnancy I don't like him jumping on me so he just come rubs head between my legs and waits for me to pet him.  Good luck!
