On the ultrasound they didnt find an embryo and no gestational sac and the dr told me that i was not 8 weeks according to my hcg levels which were 1059 im 4-5 weeks..i kept on telling them my last period was march 19 im so confused and worried how can i be 4-5 weeks has anyone ever experienced something similar?

At my first appt with my son I should have been 10 weeks based on my last period, but I was actually only 5 weeks. I just ovulated super late.

The first ultra sound is the most accurate(within 3 days) especially if it's a vaginal ultrasound. Most good dr.s won't change your due date after 14weeks. This is because after 14 weeks the rate at which a fetus grows is different for everyone. Up to 14 weeks the fetus and development is the exact same in everyone.

I hate to sound like a bad person here but something similar happened to me back in 2009, doctor told me that they was something wrong with the development of the fetus. I was also 8weeks and the doc said my levels indicated that the fetus was only about 4 weeks. Unfortunately I lost him or her a week later. I really hope that this is not your case and that everything turns out okay

My last period puts me almost 4wks ahead of the ultrasound. The ultrasound does a better job giving drs a more precise timeline. it is very possible that when you go to your first ob checkup that it could change again, unfortunately everyone's cycle and the time it takes for the implant to stick varies greatly so nothing is 100%.

I was told by my midwife that the first ultrasound is always the most accurate.  Hopefully that helps.

I had this happen with my son. At my first appointment I was told that I was 12 almost 13 weeks.  We couldn't here the heart beat so the hey did an ultrasound and found out that I was 8 weeks. I got pregnant right before my next period. He is now a healthy 4 year old

You may ovulate on a different day than you thought... plus ER doctors are not OB'S.... when you go to the OB they will be able to confirm your due date

The ultrasound is accurate for measuring fetal age, the period date assumes everyone ovulates on day 14. You just ovulated very late

I had a similar issue I initially was told I'd be 11 weeks right now but after a dating ultrasound they pushed my due date back from Dec 5th,  to Dec 20th. Based off the size and development of the baby not my last period

My last period date puts me two weeks ahead of what my ultrasound shows. Same thing happened with my first and she was born on the exact day they gave me. They should be able to confirm at your next appt.

My first due date was 5/31 calculated by my cycle. Then my first ultrasound calculated my due date at 6/16. Then my anatomy scan said 6/11. So yeah... I have no idea when this baby is going to be born.

No, but I would get a second opinion

I can't use my periods for dating. I don't regularly ovulate so they always use an ultrasound for dating. I wouldn't stress
