Im 28 weeks and I've read about many different ways to sleep but im not comfortable with my bump! I like sleeping to the right side of my body or on my back..can I harm the baby ? My next appointment Ian until April so I cant personally ask my ob/gyn...I try to sleep on my left like its recommended according to babycenter but my body gets comfortable and I move

I just asked my doctor yesterday whether it's safe to lay in my stomach or back (21 wks) and he advised that all options are safe. He stated that there are numerous studies that disprove the reduced bloodflow theory, so comfort is key.  Goodluck!

I toss and turn from side to side and on my back. Hard to get comfy. Wish I could sleep on my stomach :(

You don't have to strictly sleep on your left side. It's just preferred by doctors, etc because blood flow is better that way. I sleep on my right side or halfway on my stomach. I push my left knee up and put my foot under my other knee. I'm 26 weeks. They don't recommend sleeping on your back because the further along you get, when you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart. Don't panic if you do wake up on your back. Just change positions. We can't control the way we sleep once we actually there. Have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your knees?

I'm 32 weeks and sleep on both sides but I have to have a pillow between my legs, a pillow to hold to my chest and 2 pillows under my head.
