My grandmother is a identical twin. My other grandmother had twins and her mother had triples but no one since them have had twins.we have a big family all the grand kids have had kids so sometimes I wonder what the chances are if any.
But the SON (ie the father of your unborn baby) of a twin has no bearing on whether or not you will ovulate twice giving you fraternal twins. Identical twins are completely random. No genetic history matters.
I'm 18 weeks with fraternal twin boys. There is NO history on my mom's side (We checked way back in our genealogy). The only family history is my great great grandma's sister was a twin (on my dad's side). If the women on your dad's side have a tendency to ovulate more than once per month, he could pass that gene to you so you could have twins.
you have higher chances of fraternal twins if there are frat twins in your mother's blood line. identical twins are not genetically influenced, they are just a random occurance. anyone can have twins though, whether it runs in your family or not.
My brother's a twin and had twin girls.
Its all down to your history really. If you have twins in your family then there's a chance! Itd be down to whether or not you release 2 eggs or if you have 1 that splits into 2. Men as usual only play their small part lol ;) totally jk
Your husbands sister (if he has one) would be likely seeing as how their mom is a twin.
But Ive read about people who never had a twin in their family but they had twins. I suppose it has it to start somewhere!
Good luck
No its not necessary.I had twins, they couldn't survive.my husband don't have twins in his family, but I have few twins in my family, like my cousins are twins, then one of my cousin got twins babies.
