tummy skin stretch/tear

I'm 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby :) I pretty much know nothing about bubs atm but sure learning a lot quickly!.. so..  Last night in bed I rolled over from side to side and felt a really painful stretching or tearing down the muddle of my tummy, from my ribs down to underwear electric.  Felt like skin or maybe muscular but there's no visible damage done. Anyone else have this same experience?  What exactly is it? I'm just assuming it's normal?

Thanks everyone :) I am using Palmer's Cocoa butter every day and sometimes almond oil (which mum swears by and as she has NO stretchmarks anywhere,  I'm believing her advice). Will look into ligaments etc!

I would say that's totally normal. I have had that and its your stomach muscles stretching apart to make room for baby. The electric part is probably nerve endings being pinched along the way.

Look up and/or read about your muscles and ligaments - there will be a lot of sharp, sudden jabbing pains in the 2nd trimester as your body makes more room for baby. Hopefully this is helpful.

I think I know what you're describing. Does it almost feel like an electric shock that shoots through the skin/muscle of your belly? I get them sometimes too. I have no idea what they are and haven't been able to figure out any particular way I move when it happens, it just seems to happen occasionally.

R u moisturising? Make sure u use a good cocoa butter based cream everyday. U wont think its working but it will prevent the horrible stretch marks later on in pregnancy.
