I work & do all the house work. I've tried leaving the house a wreck & not doing anything. I even let it all go for a week straight & he still never did a dang thing! He expects me to work & do all the house work by myself & I'm 25wks pregnant with a high risk pregnancy! He uses the excuse that he works a 2nd shift job & has weird hours. He'll come home at 2 in the morning from work & play video games until 6 & sleep until 2 in the afternoon then leave for work at 3! I never see him as it is but it kills me how he has never cleaned the house not once...& he wonders why I'm so moody all the time. That would make someone not pregnant so angry! Just because a man works doesn't mean that's all he should do.

Guess I got lucky with my husband. I've always kept a clean house and cooked good meals...had nothing to do with a man or children just a way of life...and worked 40-80 hours a week as an aircraft mechanic. I'm happy to be able to keep a neat home with tasty food for him...he's a remarkable man who works harder than anyone I've ever known. Labor intensive jobs really do take more out of you sometimes then housework and children. I know first hand. On top of that considering a lot of men bring home the majority of the income and insurance and keep the mechanical things around the home working, they have a ton of stress 24/7. Couple that with the work environment (peers, supervisors, subordinates full of frustration and hot heads) for labor or mechanical jobs...it's mind numbing. I can see how he'd be sleepy. Plus he gets up with me every time I get up at night...light sleeper. Idk I just feel like I'd rub his feet every night if he wanted. I do sometimes but usually he says no thanks. :)
I cannot imagine being home and not keeping the house clean or doing laundry or washing dishes...that's perplexing. I know some who do (or don't rather). Just some of these comments make me scratch my head. My dad was hit by a drunk driver when I was 4 and it killed his best friend and the drunk, almost killed my dad. He was disabled for the rest of his life and my mom took care of him while being a mother and having to be the dominate parent and bread winner. But I can't remember ever hearing her complain about any of it. I know it was exhausting and she's the strongest lady I know to this day, even after we lost dad in 2011. But still it seemed like she was happy just keeping us all together in a clean home with good food and making just enough money to keep the heat on. :)

My husband stayed at home the first year we were married (he's foreign and couldn't get a work permit) so he understands the amount of work there is to do at home. I'm thankful for that! He is equally as excited for baby to come and to help with her.
Maybe everyone should do a year like that! In a dream world...

If tout and your husband both work though he should be putting in just as much time with house work and baby duty.

I think it would be even greater to have a boyfriend that made enough money so i didn't have to work and stay with my baby all day!  Is Coram cook make him diner and lunchabd do everything just to me a stay at home mom.  I have to do it all AND go to work and miss my baby when he comes :( I can't afford to take more than a week off after the baby either.

Too right.  We both work 40 plus hours a week. Yet here i am doing laundry and entertaining our son while he has a 3+ hour nap. Sure, we both did some cleaning this morning but for duck's sake, I'm 29 weeks preg and he didn't even think i could be needing a nap too. Saturday is my only chance as i work Sundays. Needless to say, if he wants sex, he's dreaming. I'm planning an early night with supper in bed with a movie on my laptop. Bugger him. One day, when the kids have grown up, I'll hire a cleaner and enjoy life. With MY FRIENDS doing what I ENJOY.

I work from home.. And he works 5am-330... I work 6am-5pm with kids all day.. House is always spotless, laundry always done, garbage always ready for pick up on scheduled day, dishes done daily.. I do everything.. He comes home,n says he needs to,relax and sit.. And then falls asleep till bed... Nothing i hate more, than being so exhausted and having to clean up around him, and after him after,he strips his work clothes, off till he hits the couch... I just hope eventualy he will step up.. He was never ready to be a father, (to his first, my second.. ) but he help make him, the least he could do is step up to some of the responsibilities.... :( its just very frustrating...

Wow all i can say is I'm sorry. Dang. My husband works but works crazy hours from day to night with the snap of someones fingers and works 6 to 7 days a week. So i do have to remind him to do the small things like cat litter and trash. But thats all i ask i stay at home with our toddler and do everything else. So when I'm Overwhelmed and houseooks crazy he doesn't say a word. And hes so supportive. Will sacrifice sleep to help with shopping or to give me a break. I don't understand relationships that dont give and take. Not just take. Sorry ladies.

Being a mom of 2 and pregnant with the third (16wks almost) and, having to do all house work, and doing evwrything for n with kids is exhausting sometimes. This pregnancy was not planned.. But most def. A blessing... Just tired, and sick of the men always getting the "break" ...

I don't allow that, my husband wanted kids not me. Since he wanted the kids he needs to help care for them. He has to put in as much effort as I do... paying for them is easier than tending to them... I would rather work than sit home all day with kids..
